History Talks

Colonial heritage and its significance today

| accessibility.time_to

avec Shalini Randeria et Debjani Bhattacharyya

In recent years, research has shown that phenomena such as globalization and climate change are closely interlinked with the history of colonialism. How do we explain this connection, what does it mean for the world today, and what form of responsibility do we draw from this? The anthropologist Shalini Randeria and the historian Debjani Bhattacharyya discuss the history of globalization and the climate crisis. They reveal how the issues are linked with colonialism and discuss what a responsible form of globalization could look like.

Host: Henri-Michel Yéré, historian and poet, University of Basel

The event will take place in English.
